Apple USB SuperDrive A1379 – MD564LL/A

Very clean silver external CD/DVD drive with its attached USB-A cable, original Apple box, and inner packaging tray. The silver top is well preserved, with some light marks on the underside. The cable and USB connector appear clean. The box shows storage wear and creasing. Previous usage history is unknown; this is not advertised as new or unused.

IMPORTANT TESTING DETAILS:

My newer Mac has only the small USB-C ports, while this drive has the wider USB-A connector. Since I do not have the appropriate adapter for a direct connection, I attempted to connect it through a four-port USB hub.

The drive made a brief mechanical sound when connected, but my Mac displayed “USB Accessory Needs Power,” indicating insufficient power with that connection. Without a suitable direct connection, I could not complete testing of disc reading or writing.

The drive is therefore being sold as untested, with full functionality unverified. The sound alone does not confirm full operation.
