Minisforum UM690 Slim
This is my personal mini PC. I have been using it for right at a month and it is a powerful little beast! I purchased this unit as "barebones" direct from Minisforum and added my own RAM, SSD, and Windows license. It's ready to rock right out of its original box.
SPECS OVERVIEW:- Ryzen 9 6900HX (8 cores, 16 threads)- 24GB DDR5 (1 8GB and 1 16GB sodimm in dual-channel*)- 1TB WD Blue SN5000 NVME SSD (currently showing 100% health and 731 hours)- Radeon 680M graphics (excellent performance for an iGPU, similar to GTX 1650)- Windows 11 Home (licensed and activated)
Now for the tech-saavy, the full details...- Ryzen 9 6900HX - 8c/16t, 3.3ghz base, 4.9ghz boost. 45w, set to "performance" mode in BIOS to enable as high of clocks as possible)- 24GB DDR5 - two sodimm slots, both filled. One is an 8GB Kingston 5200MT/s stick, the second is a 16GB Samsung 4800MT/s stick. Unfortunately, as most know, that limits the speed of the Kingston stick - both run at 4800MT/s in DUAL-CHANNEL. Yes, two "mis-matched" sticks will run in dual-channel... up through the matching size amount. That means you get 16GB in dual channel and an extra 8GB that falls back to single channel.- 1TB WD Blue SN5000 - purchased as a "recertified" drive direct from the Sandisk/WD store with a two year warranty on 8/20/26.**I currently have a secondary 1TB NVME installed in the second slot that I will be removing. This is why you see 1.84TB in the Windows system info screen.**- Radeon 680M graphics - I got this as a tiny "gaming PC"... and it delivers in that respect. The 680M is surprisingly capable; I locked it to a 6GB frame buffer and was able to keep steady, respectable frame rates in games like Fortnite, Roadcraft, and Avatar FOP. It stayed LOCKED on it's 2400MHz max speed and did NOT thermal throttle.**And the best part? This little guy has USB 4! I have been running it with an eGPU and a GTX 1080 (enclosure will be posted for sale soon, but I'm keeping the 1080 for another project). This is the reason you see 9GB VRAM listed on the Windows system info screen.**- Windows 11 Home... yeah, we all know what that is. It IS licensed and activated, though. :-)
