The MikroTik CCR1016-12G is an industrial‐grade high-performance router designed for demanding network environments such as data centres, ISPs or enterprise edge deployments. It comes in a 1U rackmount case and features 12 × Gigabit Ethernet ports, a 16-core CPU and is built for many millions of packets per second throughput.
Key Features:
16-core TILE-GX16 CPU, nominal frequency 1.2 GHz per core.
12 × 10/100/1000 Mbps (Gigabit) Ethernet ports, all directly connected to the CPU.
Colour touch-screen LCD display on front panel for system monitoring/status.
Ships with RouterOS (License Level 6) installed.
Hardware acceleration for IPSec.
Dual AC power inputs (100-240 V) in the “r2”/later version for redundancy.
High forwarding performance: up to ~17.8 million packets per second (in fastpath mode) and up to ~12 Gbps throughput under typical RouterOS configuration.
Operating ambient temperature from –20 °C up to +60 °C.
Maximum power consumption: ~42 W (without attachments ~37 W)
Cooling type: 2 fans
Dimensions: 443 × 193 × 44 mm
Operating temperature: –20 °C to +60 °C
MTBF: Approximately 200,000 hours at 25 °C
Hardware IPSec acceleration: Yes
Certifications: CE, EAC, RoHS
Form factor/mounting: 1U rackmount case
Performance Highlights:
Up to ~12 Gbps throughput in common RouterOS configurations.
Up to ~17.8 million packets per second (mpps) in fastpath mode (64-byte packets).
Designed for high throughput with all ports directly connected to the CPU rather than a shared switch fabric.
Use Cases & Considerations: This router suits large networks where high performance routing, firewalling, VPN or many VLANs are required. Because it uses a Tilera architecture and is discontinued, spare hardware/support may be limited—so checking revision (r2 vs earlier) and local availability is advised.
