VINTAGE 1983 APPLE III 256K PERSONAL COMPUTER SYSTEM – APPEARS UNUSED, NEW OLD STOCK (NOS) / OPEN BOX
An exceptionally well preserved 1983 Apple III 256K Personal Computer System, model A3S0256, that appears to be unused, with its original shipping carton, factory protective packaging, sealed software and documentation.
CONDITION:
The original outer carton has been opened, but the computer itself remains inside its original protective plastic bag, carefully folded around the unit as it appears to have been packaged at the factory. We have not removed the computer from this plastic wrapping.
Being wrapped in its original protective packaging and stored in its box for so many years has helped protect the computer from the yellowing and staining commonly seen with electronics from this time period. The plastic protective wrapping is also in very good overall condition.
The original custom fitted grey foam inserts remain in place, and the protective tape is still attached across the front disk drive.
The accompanying software and the Device Drivers Manual remain factory sealed and unopened.
The overall condition suggests this computer may never have been used. However, we cannot independently verify its complete history and are offering it as an exceptionally well preserved, open box vintage collectible.
The original shipping carton shows visible wear and age consistent with its vintage, including signs of storage and handling.
HISTORICAL PROVENANCE:
The original Apple Computer Inc. shipping label, dated September 30, 1983, remains intact on the carton.
TESTING:
The computer has not been powered on or functionally tested. To preserve its original condition, we have chosen not to remove it from its protective plastic or attempt to power it on.
Operational functionality is unknown and not guaranteed. Professional inspection may be necessary before use.
SHIPPING:
The system will be carefully double boxed with additional protective cushioning to help preserve the original carton and contents during shipping.
An outstanding opportunity for vintage Apple collectors, computer enthusiasts, or museums seeking an unusually well preserved Apple III system with original packaging and sealed materials.
Everything included in this sale has been photographed and is shown in the pictures.
