I need to minimize at the moment and that means getting rid of some gadgets!
I bought this Alienware Area-51m R2, brand new. I've kept it in great condition and it served me well over many years working on motion design, 3D, augmented reality, etc., projects for some of the biggest companies on the planet. I absolutely love it (I consider it the best laptop I've ever bought) and think you will too. Especially if you need a lot of RAM for programs like Adobe After Effects!
I also used it a lot for gaming, both flat and VR.
If you aren't familiar with this laptop you should know a few things: It's big, it's HEAVY, and it came with two power bricks, one of which is big and heavy. You CAN use it with the smaller of the two power bricks if you want, you just wouldn't have the full capabilities of the machine. You CAN use it unplugged for a bit but I pretty much always had it plugged in if I was using it because my work drained the battery really fast.
Just gimme the specs already
- 1TB Raid 0 (2x 512 GB NVMe M.2 PCIe SSDs)
- Nvidia RTX 2070 SUPER 8GB GDDR6
- Intel i7 10700K (8 core/16 threads, 3.80 GHz Base Clock, Desktop CPU)
- 64GB DDR4 Dual-Channel RAM (2 × 32GB SK hynix, rated 3200 MT/s)
- 90Wh Battery
- 180W + 330W Power Adapters
- 17.3 FHD (1920x1080) 300Hz
There is an empty 2.5" SSD slot inside for you to add some more storage. Mounting screws will be included.Note: The photos are before I removed the SDD.
Anything wrong with it?
There is a screw in the bottom of the laptop that is meant to push up the bottom cover so that you can access the internals. It's a horrible design and didn't work, even when it was brand-new. I ended up adding a piece of electrical tape so that once the screws are loosened, you can just pull the tape like a small tab and easily remove the cover [see video]. Other than that, it's in great shape.
*update*When I flipped the laptop upside down to take pictures of the underside the lid got scratched a bit. #$@%^!!!! Literally just for the photos.😩 There are some other light use areas (left click button of course) but besides that this laptop is really clean.
My philosophy for selling items
I'm not a professional seller. I'm just a working creative who buys a lot of electronics and eventually upgrades to something different. Since I'm not in the business of cranking out as many sales as possible, I put a lot of care and attention into the item I'm selling. It's important to me and I endeavor for the item to arrive to you as I'd want to receive it. That means that I do the best I can to clean/detail the item and package it, so that when you receive it, it's as immaculate as it can be. I genuinely want you to be thrilled with the item you receive. I'd also never sell an item that is obviously in the process of dying.I don't do returns because I don't want the hassle but you can rest assured that if I'm selling it, it's one of the best used options available.
