Condition

This Cisco Catalyst 1000 switch has a faulty PoE controller and will not power any PoE devices — please read the note below in full before buying. Everything else is fully functional: it powers on, boots cleanly into IOS-XE 15.2(7)E6, and all 24 gigabit data ports and the 4 SFP uplinks pass link test, with full console and SSH management. The chassis shows minimal wear from normal rack use, as shown in pictures — cosmetic only, no impact on the working functions. Only the item pictured is included in this listing unless stated otherwise. This listing includes rack ears and one power cord.

Important — PoE Does Not Work

This switch will not power PoE devices. The internal PoE controller is faulty. We tested with a known-good Cisco Aironet access point and a known-good cable (both confirmed working on another switch immediately before): no port detects or powers a device. The switch reports its 195W PoE budget as available, but no port applies power, and the PoE subsystem does not initialize at boot. If you need PoE, this is not the switch for you.

Everything else works and has been tested. The unit powers on and boots normally into IOS 15.2(7)E6. All 24 gigabit data ports pass link test, the 4 SFP uplinks work, and console/SSH management are fully functional. As a standard managed Layer 2 gigabit switch — minus PoE — it is fully operational.

Priced accordingly. This is listed as a data-only managed switch at a fraction of a working-PoE unit's price. It is ideal as a managed gigabit access/aggregation switch where PoE is not needed, or as a lab/spare. It is sold with the PoE fault fully disclosed — please do not purchase expecting PoE to work.
