The Netgear FA120 USB 2.0 Fast Ethernet Adapter is a reliable and efficient device that allows for easy connectivity to a PC through USB ports. With a compact design and blue color, this adapter is manufactured by NETGEAR, a trusted brand in networking technology. Made in China, it provides fast Ethernet connections for home networking and connectivity needs. Perfect for expanding network capabilities on a PC, this adapter is a practical and valuable addition to any computer setup. This is a USB 2.0 to Fast Ethernet (100Mbit) adapter. Usable in an emergency, like a need to setup a new host with a USB Nic, because the drivers for your other adapter are not in the kernel, or for vintage setups, or as conversation pieces to put on your wall.Included are two manuals, one in cellophane with an Original CD with drivers from 2003, the other just a bare manual. Included is one USB cable that goes from the USB/Fast Ethernet Adapter to a USB A connector on a PC. A similar standard cable is necessary for the other USB/Fast Ethernet Adapter to work, and these cables are generally available. It is advised to use a similar short USB cable both as a practical matter, and to prevent interference from using too long a cable.Note, most Gigabit switches will autonegotiate to Fast Ethernet, so this should be compatible with most gig switches at Fast Ethernet (100Mbit) speeds. It should be noted that most cable modems are faster than this adapter's top speed, so at this point, this adapter is more like network emergency chewing gum rather than an adapter you used daily for internet access where you desire better performance. It can be useful in installs or in metaphorical tight spots, but a Gig Adapter that is USB 3 or above will provide faster network throughput throughput with most modern broadband cable modem setups. If you just have something that needs a network connection, but performance isn't a huge issue, this adapter will perform the job of getting data from one place on the network to another.I am including two for one pricing, since one is complete, and the other is not. That way, you have a spare if necessary. The purchaser of this will receive two adapters as outlined in the description provided above.
