Listing Update...This is not so much an update as it is a brief comment about the computers and related parts I have available for sale. Personal computers (and in particular desktop computers) have always been a hobby of mine. I've enjoyed tinkering with this stuff over the years and have accumulated a number of items during this time...some new and some used. I am not an expert on the subject...more of an enthusiast...but I will still do my best to answer any questions as it relates to my computer related listings. Thank you.

Original Listing...
This offering is for a new ID-Cooling SE-224-XT CPU cooler. It's the white version of this model cooler, so the fan has just the one four-pin (12V) PWM connector that plugs into a traditional fan header on a motherboard (to power the fan and LEDs). For those that may not be familiar with the PWM acronym, it stands for "pulse width modulation", which means this fan has an extra wire (connected to the fourth pin) that allows for a pulse signal to be manipulated for the benefit of controlling fan speed. This pulse signal (and ultimately the fan speed) is managed by the motherboard through the fan's on/off frequency. Said another way, a PWM fan speed is controlled by rapidly turning on and off its power at a high frequency. The "on" time (or pulse width) effectively determines the fan speed, with a longer "on" time increasing the fan speed. Not surprisingly, a shorter "on" time will decrease the fan speed. It's also worth noting the power on/off effect is seamless to the naked eye, because of the high frequency in which this occurs. In other words, the change in fan speed under "pulse width modulation" is smooth and dependent on relevant thermal readings.

With respect to socket compatibility, the mounting hardware will accommodate the relatively current AMD (AM4 and AM5) and Intel (LGA 115X and LGA 1200) sockets. The included mounting hardware will also accommodate older AMD and Intel sockets (and you can either look up older socket compatibility on the manufacturer's website, or send me a message and I will try to help). Finally, this mounting hardware is not compatible with Intel's newest LGA 1700 socket (12th, 13th and 14th generation processors).

As is the case with many of my computer related purchases, I accumulated a number of coolers over the last few years for new computer builds. Although, the bicycle parts business has me overwhelmed at the moment and I just don't have much time to build new computers. So I thought I would make a few of these coolers available to someone else that may need one before I would get around to using them.

Having said all of the above, I thought it might also be helpful if I shared a spec. sheet of sorts that highlights some of the primary cooler features:

  • Socket compatibility: LGA 115X / LGA 1200 / AM4 / AM5 / and older socket models

  • Dimensions (L x W x H): 120 mm x 73 mm x 154 mm

  • Weight: 810grams

  • Heat pipes: 4 count x 6 mm in diameter

  • Fan speed: 700 (+/- 200) to 1800 (+/- 10%) RPM

  • Fan airflow: 76.16CFM

  • Fan noise (max): 32.5dB

  • Fan connector: 4-pin (12V) PWM

  • Bearing type: Hydraulic

  • LED type: White LED

  • LED Connector: Not applicable, fan connector also controls LEDs

In terms of condition, this is a new CPU cooler that will be shipped in its original retail packaging with all the mounting hardware for both Intel and AMD sockets (as noted above). Finally, the images uploaded to this listing represent the actual cooler. So you can see the packaging is still in nice (new) condition, as is the cooler. Listing Update...This is my last one in this model/color.

Note to international customers regarding shipping...
We apologize to those that feel some of our international shipping charges are too high. We only charge actual shipping rates, but once an order exceeds a certain amount, we hesitate to use the least expensive US Postal Services First Class International service. We feel this way, because this service is not trackable or insurable...so more risk of loss. We prefer the US Postal Services Priority Mail International service for more expensive orders, because this service is trackable at USPS.com and insurable...so less risk of loss. Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case.

Note to international customers regarding customs...
We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale. Additionally, the declared order value must be equal to total store purchases and/or winning sale offers (less any shipping costs, as these are not considered in the declared value). As a result, each customer will be responsible for paying his/her own country taxes, duties and brokerage fees, which will be collected upon delivery. Again, we apologize for these additional costs, but we cannot afford the penalties and fines that come with breaking customs' laws...so we have to strictly aoffere by them.
