You don't see these on too often! I've had this machine for a while and as an electronics tech, I've upgraded, repaired and adjusted things over time. This machine is loaded to maximum RAM with 224k with all optional RAM slots filled. I replaced the internal battery with a new pack of NiMH (the charger circuit charges them fine) batteries for verified all-day power. (And all-night recharge, since this was '80s tech.) I replaced the internal RAM backup battery with a Supercap to prevent leakage in the future, and fully lubricated and aligned the internal floppy drive and verified that it can read and write disks between other Tandy 600s as well. Every key on the keyboard works, and every pixel on the screen is perfect. No scratches on the screen. There's a slight bit of case yellowing, but it is very uniform inside and out, so it looks good. There's a little adhesive residue in a few places left from a previous owner, but I did not try any solvents to remove them, just in case. I've burned a Microsoft BASIC ROM for it that you can swap in if you remove the Microsoft spreadsheet ROM that's already in the Option ROM slot. The BASIC ROM has a 3D-printed carrier that I made, so all of the pins are easy to align. I took all of the Tandy 600 software that I could find on the Internet and copied it via the serial port from my desktop machine and wrote it to the included floppy disks, as well as making a copy of the Tandy 600 utilities disk. You can load BASIC into RAM from that disk, but since the spreadsheet program is not too useful to me, I usually just ran BASIC off of the ROM, saving a lot of system memory in the process.Apologies for the "recycled" nature of the floppies.I didn't have a good source for double-density disks otherwise.I modified a commercial power adapter to have the correct plug and center-negative polarity so you can run off of wall power or charge the internal battery easily.
Please ask any questions. I'm usually very quick to reply. You will receive it well-packed and with a charged battery. This machine
is heavy, so I apologize for the shipping quotes in advance. If you end up paying too much for shipping, even a few pennies, I'll refund the
difference when I generate the shipping label. We can discuss the cheapest shipping options. I'm happy to accommodate. If you paid too little,
that's on me. Since it's a vintage machine, I cannot take any returns, but I try to be as fair as I can. If it's DOA, I'll refund you, no worries.
This machine is ready to go. I've had a lot of fun with it, but have moved to other quirky vintage computers, so someone else needs to enjoy this one!
