Western Digital My Passport for Mac portable external hard drive with 1TB of storage—plenty of room for documents, photographs, videos, music, backups, and all those files you promised yourself you would organize someday.
Model WDBCGH0010BSL-01 is a compact 2.5-inch HDD with a 5,400 RPM rotational speed, 8MB cache, and USB 3.0 connectivity. The USB 3.0 interface supports a theoretical maximum transfer rate of 5 Gbps, although actual read and write speeds depend on the computer, file sizes, drive condition, and system configuration. Typical real-world performance for this type of portable hard drive is approximately 80–110 MB/s.
The drive is powered directly through its USB connection, so no separate wall adapter or cooling fan is required. It was originally designed and formatted for Mac using Mac OS Extended/HFS+, but the current file-system format has not been verified. It can generally be reformatted for compatible Windows computers, although reformatting will erase all existing data.
